Is it possible to bypass flashing the ECU on a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee and add wiring to make a 7 way connector work for trailer functions work?

To install a 7-way on your 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee that won't require flashing the ECU you'd first need to start with a 4-way like the Tekonsha part # 118727 which is a confirmed fit and installs easily by plugging inline with taillight wiring. Then to convert it to a 7-way what you'd need is the part # 37185 if the trailer doesn't have brakes or part # ETBC7 for if the trailer does have brakes. You'd also need a brake controller like the Brake EVN # TK63VR to actually operate the brakes.
