Is EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch For 2015 BMW X5 Compatible With Thule Apex Swing XT Bike Rack
Question:
Hello, Im interested in EH44R for my 2015 BMW X5. Would like to get the Thule Apex XT Swing bike rack. However, Thule says the pin hole to front depth should be 1.5 min and Thule rep said ideally no more than half to inch max beyond that. The EH44R pin hole depth is 1.5. Would you know if others were able to install successfully without the need for any special extenders/adapters? Thank you.

The two are indeed compatible without the need for any extender or adapter; the 1-1/2 inch pin hole depth is something that is actually true for essentially all bike racks, so the pin hole depth of the EcoHitch is perfect for the Thule rack.
As far as the correct part numbers, while you did specify # EH44FR, I did want to mention, just to be thorough, that there are two EcoHitch Stealth hitches that fit a 2015 BMW X5, one if your BMW has a backup sensor, and the other for one without a backup sensor. The correct part numbers for the hitch and the Thule bike rack are the following:
- WITH Backup Sensor: EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH44FR
- WITHOUT Backup Sensor: EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7265
- Thule Apex Swing XT Bike Rack # TH9027XT
