To find the correct replacement leaf springs for your 1960 Shasta Airflyte trailer you will need your axle capacity and the length of the leaf springs. The axle capacity can typically be found on the axle tag. Because of the age of the trailer this might not be visible. You could also use the axle diameter to find the capacity.

Typical Axle Diameters Based on Axle Capacity
- 1,000-lb - 2,000-lb Axles: 1-1/2 inch - 1-3/4 inch diameter
- 3,500-lb Axles: 2-3/8 inch diameter
- 6,000-lb - 7,200-lb Axles: 3 inch diameter
- 8,000-lb Axles: 3-1/2 inch diameter
- 9,000-lb Axles: 4 inch diameter
- 10,000-lb Or more axles: 5 inch diameter

Once you know the capacity you will want to measure your current leaf springs. The measurement you need is the spring eye to spring eye measurement. This is considered the length of the leaf spring. Replacement leaf springs will be slightly shorter since your current leaf springs will have flattened over time.

For example, if you find that you have a 3,500 lb axle and the leaf spring measurement is slightly over 25-1/8" then you could use the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles - 25-1/8" Long # e54SR. It is also worth mentioning that the leaf count does not matter, only the capacity.

I have attached a helpful article on trailer suspension along with a link to all of our leaf springs which can be sorted by length and capacity.
