Question:
Im towing a Highfield 650 Sport inflatable RIB on a Venture single axle trailer with a 2016 Honda Odyssey. The 3 1/2 rise hitch from U-Haul seems too low and theres a great deal of tongue weight causing severe abrasion on the ball. Can you suggest the proper rise for this setup? My opinion is that it should be 2-3 higher. Thank you.

In order to choose a ball mount with the correct rise/drop for your towing setup you'll need to measure from the ground to the top inside of your hitch receiver and then from the ground to the bottom of your trailer coupler (make sure the trailer is leveled out).
If the hitch height is higher then use a drop ball mount that matches the difference.
If the hitch height is lower then use a rise ball mount that matches the difference.
Attached is a helpful article that goes into a little more detail about this. If you let me know what the difference is between these numbers I can make a ball mount recommendation from our linked selection.
