Underbed Installation Kit and 5th Wheel Hitch for a 1989 Ford F-250 w/ 8' Bed
Question:
Scott S replied to a question I submitted regrading a 5th wheel hitch system for my 1989 Ford F250 Super Cab 3/4 T 4x4 8 ft bed. Attached is a picture of my F250 leaf springs. I dont know if the picture depicts overload/lift springs. I need to determine which custom underbed kit I need, the 1110-5W or the 1100-5W based on the springs I have. Thanks

The only 5th wheel hitch that we have that is compatible with your 1989 Ford F250 Super Cab 3/4 T 4x4 8 ft. bed with lift springs and uses below bed rails is the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # BWRVK3500-5W.
If you mean Overload springs when you say lift springs then the correct below bed installation kit is the Custom Underbed Installation Kit for B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # BWGNRK1110-5W.
If you do not have Overload springs then the correct install kit is the Custom Underbed Installation Kit for B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # BWGNRK1100-5W.
This is not your traditional rail mount system, the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # BWRVK3500-5W attaches to the install kit using the turnover ball hole and the system can be used as a gooseneck hitch when the 5th wheel hitch is removed and turnover ball put in place.
