Large Cargo Carrier For 2012 Toyota Prius V
Question:
What are my options for Prius V 3 with resin moonroof ? What rack systems can I use and which cargo boxes can I use? I want a large box. I went to Thule retail store in LA n they were clueless about whether this model could accommodate a roof rack. Thank you.

I checked with every rack manufacturer and there are zero roof racks that fit your 2012 Toyota Prius v with a moonroof, so in order to carry cargo, you'll need a trailer hitch receiver, cargo carrier, and cargo bag. For a large cargo carrier you'll need a 2" hitch, and the only option for that is one from EcoHitch, the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7192.
This will allow you to use a 24" x 60" cargo carrier - the largest available - the Reese Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches # 63153.
To secure the carrier you'll need the Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # 63232, and for a cargo bag that gives you 20 cubic feet of space for your gear, you'll need the Cargo Bag w/ Mounting Straps # 988501.
