Where Does the Power Wire for a Brake Controller Run on a 1995 Dodge Ram

The power wire on the Tekonsha Sentinel or any brake controller goes to the vehicle battery via a fuse or circuit breaker. On a 1995 Dodge Ram if you had a factory 4-Way or 7-Way trailer connector then there is a brake controller plug in port that will accept harness # 3020-P. The factory harness is located underneath the dash, to the left of the steering column, taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal.

In this set up, the factory harness is already fused and connected to the 12 volt power source. The fuse for it can be found by using the owners manual and/or power distribution box lid.

On vehicles where the brake controller has to be hardwired in the brake controller power wire is attach to the positive battery terminal via a 20 or 30 amp circuit breaker.
