Can Thule DoubleTrack Pro XT Be Used with Kuat Pivot 2 Swing Away Hitch Extender

Question:

Is there wiggle introduced by using the 2 inch adapter in 2 inch hitch? Previous experience with a hitch adapter was not positive and have been looking for rack made for 2 inch hitch. However, I like this rack the best but want as stable a solution as possible for attaching to a Kuat Pivot 2 swing-out hitch on a Ford Transit Van. Limited in options because our bikes have fenders. Thanks

The Thule DoubleTrack Pro XT Bike Rack # TH92BJ is a great choice for a bike rack and the adapter sleeve that comes with it won't affect the operation of the anti-rattle hitch bolt. The adapter sleeve just takes up more space overall and when you tighten down the bolt it will pull the sleeve against the 2" receiver you have this installed on. Just be sure you kind of wiggle the rack around some while you're tightening the bolt so you get the best fit possible.

With that being said, Kuat says to only use the Pivot 2 # PVP20B with bike racks that only have a solid 2" shank (although they make an exception for their Transfer V2 # KU74FR). If you decide to use the DoubleTrack Pro XT that would be on your end as I can only recommend bike racks with that solid 2" shank.

If you'd like to use a similar rack that has a solid 2" shank I recommend checking out the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack # HLY84FR which has similar features but I actually like the anti-rattle feature of this rack a little more as it has a locking hitch pin and then the anti-rattle is tightened down via the adjustment handle at the rear end of the base of the rack.

Attached are some review videos for you to check out.
