In order to setup a vehicle for towing a trailer with electric brakes you'll need to get both a seven way trailer connector and trailer brake controller. The Brake Controller Install Kit part # ETBC7 is what I recommend for the trailer connector as it will convert an existing four way into a seven way and then provides the rest of the wires and breakers needed to complete the install. Then for a trailer brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller part # TK90160 which is a great option offering a proportional design.
Please note, if you need a four way connector just let me know what vehicle you have so I can recommend one as it will be required for this setup.
