Thule Roof Box Recommendation to Fit 2012 Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen and Clear Hatch

Question:

What is the largest size Thule brand cargo box that can be attached to a 2012 Jetta sportwagen and not interfere with the rear hatch door. Thanks!

I'd be more than happy to help you find the right sized roof box for your 2012 Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen but in order to do so I'll first need to know what the distance is between your front crossbar and the line where the roof and the hatch meet. Sometimes I can find this information online but unfortunately I'm not seeing this measurement for your vehicle.

Once we know what this distance is we can then choose the appropriate roof box. For example, the Thule Force XT L Rooftop Cargo Box - 16 cu ft # TH6357B requires at least 47-1/2" between the front crossbar and that line for your rear hatch to open completely without any interference (see attached photo).
