How to Fit the SportRack Roof Rack # SR1010 on a 2019 Kia Niro with Bare Roof

Question:

We bought the sr1010 sportracks and were looking for the fit measurements for a flat roof 2019 Niro PHEV ( with no rails) so we could fit a roof box afterwards. We think we made it after a lot of trial and error, but if you have the right fitting measurements, we would take them to check that we are ok.

While we do have a great fitment for you, I confirmed with SportRack that the SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack # SR1010 does not fit a 2019 Kia Niro PHEV with a bare roof. This is because the # SR1010 was designed to fit certain styles of roofs. The shape of your particular roof style and doors cannot accommodate the shape of the door-jamb clips and feet.

With that being said, the best and only guaranteed fitment we have with your bare roof is the SeaSucker Monkey Bars # 298-SX6000B. Since the Monkey Bars attach directly to your roof, you do not need to worry about fitting clamps into your door jambs or rails. Since the Monkey Bars only measure 1-1/4" in diameter, they are compatible with virtually all roof boxes. Additionally, the Monkey Bars come with an impressive 150-pound weight capacity. I went ahead and attached a video that shows the impressive strength of SeaSucker vacuum cups.

To add locks to the Monkey Bars, I recommend using the etrailer Cable Lock # e98891 along with the Window Cable Anchor # 298-BA0010.

As far as the cargo box, I recommend either the Trunx Cargo Box - 18 cu. ft. # TRX34FR or the Malone Cargo12 # MPG901. Both of these cargo boxes are great economical options that will get the job done. Not only do these easily attach to the Monkey Bars, you will have enough crossbar spread to accommodate both these boxes on your 2019 Kia Niro.
