Recommended Weight Distribution System For A 2016 Ram 1500 Rebel
Question:
Looking for some advice. Planning a cross country trip Fla. to Oregon this summer. I’ve been towing several thousand miles with a standard hitch, but Im thinking of getting an E2 WDH, as Ive used one in the past and was happy with how it worked. So do I need the E2 for the trip? It seems to tow just fine without... I’ll list my setup and pros and cons as I see it. Tow vehicle ... 16 Ram 1500 Rebel. Has 4 corner factory air, so squat is never an issue. Camper ... 18 Geo Pro 19fbs. Just under 4K loaded. Pros to wdh... distribute load across all axles, control sway I get a tiny bit when drafting/passing semis at 70. Might be a bit safer. Cons.... the added weight on the tongue, I’ll be doing some light off-roading to boondock in National Forests etc. So I may have to swap hitches before hitting some forest roads. At least disconnect the bars. And it’s a general pain in the butt. Any advice would be appreciated. I’ll also have to set it up for my TV.

When it comes to using a weight distribution system on your 2016 Ram 1500 Rebel The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control - Trunnion - 6,000 pounds GTW, 600 pounds TW # FA92-00-0600 will work for you.
When using a weight distribution hitch you need to be as close as possible to the tongue weight of the trailer that is being towed. With your trailer being just under 4,000 loaded the tongue weight will be around 400 and the Fastway system is the perfect system for you.
The Fastway system has a tongue weight rating between 250 pounds and 600 pounds, with a gross towing weight of 6,000 pounds. It has no-drill, clamp-on brackets that can be adjusted along the trailer frame. The system has a powder coated steel construction that is durable and corrosion resistant.
Everything is included with the Fastway system except The 2 inch Hitch Ball for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems - 8,000 pounds # EQ91-00-6080 and The 1-7/8 inch Thin walled socket # EQ70-00-4800 which is used to help install the hitch ball.
