Replacement Key Needed for SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack # SR1010

Question:

I bought this roof rack a few year ago for my 2008 GTI. Unfortunately is has caused some leaking into the car. My car is in the shop right now and I am unsure where the keys to the roof rack are. Are they generic keys? How do you recommend getting the lock off if the keys are missing? Do you have replacement keys? Thanks you.

Sorry to hear about the locks on your SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack # SR1010.

As far as replacement keys, the keys are not generic; they are cut to individualized codes. However, we do have some replacement keys that are coded to match Sportrack locks. For example, if you have lock code N2854, you would need the # THKEYN2854.

In order to know definitively what replacement key you need, you need to find the etched key code right above or below the keyhole on your roof rack's locks. This is usually a 5-character code starting with a letter followed by 4 numbers.
