How Can I Adjust My Reese Friction Sway Control Kit?
Question:
I have a F150 Eco Screw pulling Rockwood coming in at 8800 dry. I use a reese pro 11000lb wdh and 2 reese friction bars also. 1. I adjusted the wdh so that I had proper weight going to front equal squat front and back. 2. Bars are tightened down tight. It still sways. Thoughts?

If you're still experiencing sway with your Reese Friction Sway Control Kit # 83660 you may need to make some adjustments to your system.
To get the maximum benefits from your sway control assembly, a series of road tests should be taken with the loaded trailer.
On consecutive trips, increase or decrease tension by turning the adjusting bolt (7) in 1/4 turn increments in the direction shown on the label until the desired control is achieved.
Additionally, after about 1000 miles of towing, remove the slide bar from the sway control and clean the friction surfaces with a wire brush. This process should be repeated about every 10,000 miles.
Finally, if you've already done the adjustments are you're still experiencing sway, you may consider an entire new WDS with friction sway control. If you can tell me know the weight of the trailer when fully loaded and the tongue weight on the hitch, I can let you know which weight distribution system is best for you
