Can I Back Up w/ a Weight Distribution Hitch?
Question:
I am in the process of buying a new Travel trailer. I have had 5th wheels, Class Cs, pop ups, and Class As. This is the first time I will be hauling a Travel Trailer. I have a question about the WDH. I have been told that before I back into a site I have to take the sway bars or something off of the hitch prior to backing in. It sounds like a pain in the buttocks. The WDH Im interested in is the Fastway e2. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I would be happy to help you. Yes, you can back up with the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control - Round item # FA94-00-0600. You will not have to unhook your sway bars or disconnect your brackets when reversing with this system installed. Unhooking this system does sound like a pain so I am happy to tell you you don't have to do it. The Fastway e2 has a 400 lbs - 600 lbs tongue weight range and a 6,000 lbs maximum gross towing weight.
I also recommend the Classic Accessories Tow Bar and Weight Distribution Tote item # CA80113. This heavy duty bag is perfect for storing your weight distributing hitch. It is 36" x 11" Wide x 8" Tall and has padding that prevents damage to your hitch and prevents dings to your vehicle's cargo area from shifting gear.
