Roof Rack with Long Crossbars to Accommodate 2 Kayaks Secured Flat on 2021 Nissan Murano

Question:

Have side and cross rails on 2021 murano. Need to extend cross rails to enable side by side carrying of two hornbeck canoe/kayaks since manufacturer recommends flat carry. The cross rails are removable if necessary. Crossbars need to extend past the roof. Thanks!

While we do have a solution for your 2021 Nissan Murano to have crossbars that extend past your roof, we do not have crossbars that are engineered to fit your flush rails on your vehicle. This is because roof rack manufacturers have not tested the fitment of their crossbars with your factory bars removed on your flush rails. It is entirely possible that the engineering of your flush rails with the factory crossbars are different than the factory option flush rails without a crossbar system.

With a 100% definite fitment, I recommend removing your current crossbars and installing the SeaSucker Monkey Bars - 60" # SEA99FR. The SeaSucker Monkey Bars come with 60" of crossbar space, and it is the longest crossbars that are confirmed to fit your setup without having to drill into your roof. Since you can simply install the vacuum cups onto your roof, you do not need to worry about fitment onto your flush rails. For a great kayak carrier for the Monkey Bars, I suggest 2 sets of the Rhino-Rack Nautic Roof SUP or Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs # RR570. The great thing about the Nautic Roof carrier is that it comes fully equipped with all of the straps you need to secure both kayaks flat to the cradles and to the Monkey Bars. The bolts of the carrier also serve as theft-deterrence since you need a special tool to loosen and remove them.
