How Much Trailer Can the Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Handle
Question:
My friend gave me a Curt e16 fifth wheel hitch , I would like to know will it be enough to pull a 2008 crossroads cross terrain 38m toy hauler The weight of the trailer says 11655 pounds. I just need to pick up the trailer, I’m not going to put anything in it. I just want to know if the e16 is safe enough to tow it home unloaded.

The Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # C16115 for fixed or part # 16516 for sliding is rated for up to 16,000 lbs. Therefore, the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) which is the most a trailer can weight must be under this figure to remain safe though a few thousand lbs of extra room is never a bad thing. If you need more capacity, the next step up is the Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # C16140 for fixed or part # C16541 for sliding.
