Can Prodigy P2 Brake Controller Replace Factory Controller on 2008 Silverado by Plugging In

my stock chevy controller is bad. i want to replace it, can i just disconnect a harness from old controller and plug it into new p2

You won't be able to plug in a new aftermarket brake controller in your 2008 Chevy Silverado as there is no plug-in harness, so you will have to splice in the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885.
There are wires under the dash that you'll have to connect the controller to. There are also two wires under the hood that you'll need to connect; I have added a link below to a video install on an '08 Silverado so you can see what you'll need to do. I have also added a help article which goes over this.
