Replacement Brake Assemblies for 3,500 lb Lippert Axle

Question:

Hey guys! I have a 16foot 2020 cargo express XLW SE 7 enclosed trailer. It has 2 Lippert 3500lb axles. The brakes have always been weak on it, and theyre finally toast. Is there anyway to upgrade the brakes on my trailer?? I need more stopping power ideally. If so, what brakes would you recommend? And if not, which stock size would you recommend? Thanks,

With a set of properly adjusted brake assemblies installed in your drums they brakes should be very powerful unless there was grease that got in the hub at one point. The best recommendation for assemblies is the set part # AKEBRK-35-SA which are self adjusting and a correct fit for your current drums.

If you wanted new drums the part # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K would be what you would need. Unfortunately if grease gets in a hub from a seal failure it's hard to get the drum to stop like it needs to going forward no matter how much you clean it.
