What Tankless Water Heater Will Function In Winter Temps?

Question:

I have a Furrion Tankless Heater in a Reflection 312 BHTS. Is there a model of tankless water heater that will handle cold weather teens or lower?

Because the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater, model # FR93FR that you linked to, and other similar models, are most commonly mounted in compartments with exterior access doors that are not heated, the manufacturer recommends that they be winterized when temps drop below 39 degrees to prevent freeze damage.

The Excel RV Tankless Water Heater, # EX93FR is a vent-free design with an ODS (Oxygen Depletion Safety) shutoff device that detects low levels of oxygen. It can be installed almost anywhere as long as you have decent air turnover, simply having a ventilation fan operating will accomplish this. It only requires 2" of clearance on each side and 8" above the unit for proper ventilation. This allows you to install inside the heated area of your RV and not be forced to winterize when dropping below 39 degrees.

We do recommend that installation and service be performed by a qualified installer/RV Tech.
