Is A Trailer Supposed To Have Two Diameter Axles?

on my 1993 terry fleatwood the front axle is a 3 inch and the back is a 2 3/4 is this a problem or is it safe and how do i figure out what should be on it ?

That's odd, typically a trailer doesn't have two different diameter axles since the capacity of an axle can vary greatly based off the diameter of the axle.

I would err on the side of caution and assume that since you have an odd sized axle at 2-3/4", that they are rated for 3,500lbs.

With your other axle being 3" diameter, which typically means your capacity is rated for 6K-7.2K, it is also possible for your axle to be rated for 5.2K or even 3.5K.

However, to accurately determine the capacity of your axles, I recommend pulling off a hub and let me know what the inner and outer bearing number is.

Until we know for sure, to be safe, I wouldn't put too weight on it.
