Can a Go Power MPPT Solar Controller with Only an AGM Setting Charge Lithium Batteries

Question:

My MTTP controller only has AMG setting apparently. Using 4-Lithium battery 250 AMP batterys can the setting be on AMG. Is this sitting only for the solar panels drawing sun and not touching the normal charging using my secondary alternator correct? Any advice would help

I contacted the manufacturer regarding your questions. They informed me that the MPPT 40A solar controller does only have the setting for AGM and no lithium setting. This setting is only for the solar controller and will still charge the battery, it just may not fully charge the batteries. It has no affect on the alternator charge.

You can use the Go Power MPPT Solar Charge Controller # GP54FR if you want to be able to maximize your current lithium battery bank. You can also add the Bluetooth Dongle for Go Power MPPT Solar Charge Controller # GP94FR to be able to monitor your solar controller data and settings from your smartphone or tablet.
