Single Carrier Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2013 Cadillac CTS Coupe

We offer two styles of bike racks that will work for your 2013 Cadillac CTS Coupe. There are trunk mounted bike racks and hitch mounted bike racks. In in order to minimize contact with and potential damage to your vehicle I advise installing a hitch and using a hitch mounted platform style of bike carrier.

We offer one hitch that is a fit for a 2013 Cadillac CTS Coupe and it is the Curt # C11196. This is a Class I trailer hitch that has a 1-1/4 receiver opening, and includes a ball mount in this configuration. Please note this is not intended for use on the CTS-V. Additionally Curt recommends the use of a stabilizing strap on all non-trailer loads to be used with this hitch, and that is part # 18050. This trailer hitch has a tongue capacity limitation of 200 pounds so your bike and carrier would have to weigh less than 200 pounds combined.

One note we have concerning the installation of this hitch on your vehicle is the ball mount, or accessories carried in this carrier may get hot due to the placement of the exhaust on this vehicle. For installing this hitch the exhaust is temporarily required to be lowered.

A platform style of bike rack that you could then use with this hitch is the Swagman XTC-2 # S64670. This bike rack is designed to carry two bikes but can easily be modified to carry only one bike. It has a maximum bike weight capacity of 70 pounds and the bike rack itself is only 33 pounds which combined is well within the limitations of the hitch. You would be able to use the stabilizing strap on the vertical upright post of this bike rack and attach it to the truck lid.

If you would prefer a trunk mounted bike rack option of the racks that are confirmed as a fit for your 2013 Cadillac CTS Coupe I recommend the Thule Archway XT # TH9009XT. This bike rack is designed to carry 2 bikes, if you are only needing to carry one bike you will just load it in the cradles that are closest to the vehicle. This will reduce the leverage on the bike rack that is then transferred to the trunk of your Cadillac. This bike rack secures to the vehicle using 6 coated hooks with adjustable straps. This bike rack also includes an built in cable lock to deter theft.

If you choose any of the trunk mounted bike racks it is advised that the surface of your vehicle be cleaned and waxed to reduce any damage to the paint or finish.

If you plan on carrying an alternative frame or womens bike on this hanging style of rack, an adapter bar is recommended, like the Thule Bike Adapter Bar # TH982XT. This will secure the bike in a horizontal position on the bike rack and will improve ground clearance.

We have a roof rack option that is confirmed as a fit for your vehicle, so a roof mounted bike rack carrier is unfortunately not an option for this vehicle.
