You will need to consult your vehicle specific owners manual for ability to flat tow your 2008 Subaru Forester. It does appear that Subaru does recommends against flat towing many of their vehicles but that will be directly addressed in the owners manual for your particular trim package and vehicle equipment options installed. To flat tow any vehicle, there are 5 basic items needed, a base plate kit, tow bar, tow bar wiring and safety cables, a braking system.
- Base Plate, Blue Ox Base Plate Kit, # BX3614
- Tow Bar, Blue Ox Alpha # BX7380 (needed safety cables included)
- Wiring, Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit, # RM-15267
- Braking System, Roadmaster Even Brake Portable Supplemental Braking System, # RM-9400
To ensure that your towing setup is level I have attached a helpful article on how to choose the correct high/low adapter as well as our selection for you to review.
