2-Bike Hitch Rack Recommendation for 2 Cruiser Bikes
Question:
I am looking for a hitch bike carrier for two cruiser bikes....both with fenders, one is a step over, the other is a step through with a very low bar.

Since your cruiser bikes have fenders, we always recommend going with a frame-mount bike rack. This is because racks that use a wheel-mount attachment style induce the risk of damaging/cracking your fenders when your vehicle goes over bumps or uneven terrain.
For a great economical option that gets the job done, I recommend going with the Swagman XC2 Bike Rack for 2 bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches # S64650. The XC2 comes with a 35-pound weight capacity and fits tires up to 2.5" wide. Since one of your bikes is a step-thru bike, you need a bike frame adapter bar # 64005. It is also important to note that we recommend using a # 64005 for women's style bike frames as well just in case your other bike has that style. To add a theft-deterring hitch lock and cable, those are the # S64031.
If you want something a bit fancier, I recommend the Saris Freedom # SA4412B. Since the Freedom comes with independently-adjusting cradles, you do not need bike frame adapter bars for this rack. It also comes with an 8" rise that prevents the possibility of scraping/bottoming out on your vehicle. It also comes with a better, sturdier overall construction. The Freedom is compatible with bike wheelbases of up to 48" long. To add a hitch lock and bike cable lock, those are the # SA3022 and the # e98891.
I went ahead and attached some helpful videos for you to check out. For a recommendation for a compatible hitch for these suggestions, feel free to respond with your year/make/model and I will be happy to make that suggestion.
