Troubleshooting Tekonsha POD PowerTrac Brake Controller Installed on 2007 Silverado LTZ
Question:
I have a 2007 silverado Ltz 1500. Ive tried to wire it up and its wired correctly. I watched it on utube to verify. I have no green light. Without trailer hooked to it all I have is red light that flickers but it does get brighter with controller nob when I apply brakes. I have fuses in also. I have a regular trailer and all those lights work fine.

It sounds to me as if your controller is not getting sufficient 12-volt power to operate correctly. Try using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 on the black power supply wire feeding the brake controller. I am guessing you will not see any power on this wire. The flickering you describe is from the slight amount of power reaching the controller through the red wire that serves as the input to the controller that tells it when the vehicle brakes are being applied.
I suspect that the power connection under the hood has not been hooked up. Go to the power distribution box under the hood on the inside of the driver's side fender. Remove the cover. Between the distribution box and the fender, you will find a red wire with a ring terminal on the end of it. The ring terminal needs to be installed on the left hand M6 post on the front of the distribution box, as shown in the FAQ article I have linked you to. You will also need a M6 nut, like part # 185916. The connection for the accessory power feed to the trailer connector might need to be finalized as well. Under the brake master cylinder, there is another red wire with a ring terminal. The ring terminal would attach to the right-hand post on the front of the distribution box, and would be secured with an M8 nut, part # 185917. I have provided some photos showing the locations of these wires as well as where they connect.
