Trailer Hitch for a 2005 Ford F-150 that Looks Like a 2006 Ford F-150
Question:
Hi I have a 2005 Ford F-150 super crew and have been trying to find an exact fit hitch. The problem I have is my truck has the frame to bumper reinforcement brakets that appear on the 2006Ford show in your video for drawtite hitch 75506 Is it possible I need a 2006 style hitch?

Are you talking about the saddle bracket that goes across the back of the vehicle on the 2006 or are you talking about the vibration dampers on the 2005? I suppose it is possible that your truck could have components on it for a 2006 if it was built late in the 2005 cycle. But it does not seem likely they would use a whole different frame.
What I have done is linked instructions for a 2005 hitch, # C13352, and a video, as well as instructions and a video for a 2006 hitch, # 75506, along with a video. You can compare them all to your truck to determine which you need to go with.
For either hitch I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # EBMK4. It comes with a ball mount, interchangeable ball set, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag. If you need to add trailer wiring you can use # 18252 for either year.
