Expert Reply:
The Bulldog Square 25K Drop-Leg Jack, part # BD182701, can be welded to your trailer on any of its four sides if installed in a direct-weld application. My technical contact at Bulldog confirmed that the 4-inch outer tube is suitable for welding on any side and in any preferred orientation.
Before welding you will want to confirm that you have proper clearance relative to other components on your trailer and that you will have enough room to operate the crank handle.
All welding must be performed by an AWS certified welder. Place the jack at the desired location. Weld 3 inches in 2 locations on both sides of the jack using a 1/4-inch fillet weld.
Please note that the 10- x 10-inch footplate is included, but the side-wind crank is sold separately as part # BD015181. I have attached the installation and operation instructions for this jack.
