Replacement 15 Wheels do I Need for a 2-Axle Trailer with 6200-7200 Loaded Weight

Question:

I have a 2 axle, 3-horse stock trailer unladen weight approx. 3200lbs loaded weight would be approx. 6200-7200 lbs. My tire size is: ST 205-75R15. The rims on it are 16”, 6 lug. I’m looking to buy new rims, but not sure what load capacity the rims should be?

I can definitely help. If you have ST205/75R15 tires, these are 15 inch tires that are compatible with 15 inch rims. This is because the wheel diameter is measured from inside lip to inside lip across the wheel. I went ahead and attached a diagram that shows how to measure the wheel.

Since trailer wheels are rated individually, the combined load capacity of your wheels should at least match the loaded weight of your trailer. This will be easy to do with your 6200-7200 pounds. For example, the Dexstar Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel - 15" x 6" Rim - 6 on 5-1/2 - White Powder Coat # AM20532 and the Dexstar Mini Mod # AM20552 have a capacity of 2,830 pounds alone. These are great choices.

If you are looking for something fancier, you can always go with the Aluminum Lynx Trailer Wheel - 15" x 6" Rim - 6 on 5-1/2 # LHSL311. This model also comes with a 2,830 capacity.

I went ahead and attached some review videos for you to check out.
