Can I Install a Third Brake Camper Taillight to My 7-Way Wiring Harness?

Question:

I have a 2000 toyota tacoma and just picked up a used leer cap for it. Is there anyway to wire the third brake light using the tow trailer connector?

I went ahead an brought this to my attention to my fellow experts, and while you cannot wire your third brake light directly into your 7-way wiring harness like the # ETBC7 on your 2000 Toyota Tacoma, you can wire it directly to the brake light wiring you currently have installed. In order to determine what wire you need to splice into, you I recommend using a circuit tester like the # PTW2993 to find the correct ones. Also, you most likely need more 16-gaguge wiring # 16-1-1 and heat-shrink butt-connectors # 05731-5 to complete the splicing. The # 16-1-1 is sold by the foot.
