Trailer Hitch Mount Cargo Carrier and Light Kit for a 2012 Ford Escape XLT 4WD
Question:
I am looking to find out if this cargo carrier will be the best fit for my 2012 Ford Escape XLT. The hitch I have is CURT #13650, and it is wired with CURT #56160. If I needed/wanted lights on this carrier, is this the only carrier that will work as well to allow for lights to be attached? I am a little bit lost as to what the best hook up will be for my vehicle and if I will need to add in more wiring, or change out my existing wiring.

For owners of the 2012 Ford Escape, the Pro Series line of cargo carriers is popular and # 63153 would be a good choice. Like you said, you can add a light kit to this carrier using # 20174. This light kit is compatible with the wiring harness you have you will not need to add anything additional.
Those are the options for cargo carriers that fit 2-inch hitches and have light kits. I think you will be happy with any of the carriers listed above. I have linked a couple of videos featuring some of the carriers and light kits for you.
