Can You Use a 5/8" Hitch Pin On 3" Hitch with 3/4" Hitch Pin Hole

Question:

My 2” hitch shank has a 5-8” hole The 3” receiver has a 3/4” hole and both reducers have 3/4” Is it alright to pull my travel trailer using the smaller 5/8” diameter pin that fits the 2” hitch shank?

If the trailer hitch has a 3/4" diameter hitch pin hole then that is what you'll need to use when towing with said hitch even when using an adapter such as the Curt Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeves part # C45408. If you don't have a 3/4" diameter hitch pin we do offer the Super Titan Trailer Hitch Pin and Clip part # 58388.

There would be too much slop with the smaller pin to be safely used inside the larger opening.
