How to Tell if Rooftop Cargo Box Will Clear Rear Hatch on 2019 Honda CR-V

Hello Will the SportRack Vista XL fit on a 2019 Honda CRV with factory cross bars? Main question is whether its possible to fully open the rear hatch with the SportRack Vista XL? Thank you.

The SportRack Vista XL Cargo Box # SR7018 is small enough that you should be just fine with hatch clearance on your 2019 Honda CR-V (see attached review video of this box on a Honda Fit). But with that being said, it looks like the OEM roof rack (and any aftermarket rack for that matter) has a crossbar spread of 27" while the Vista XL fits crossbars spreads of 23-5/8", 25-7/8", 27-7/8", and 29-7/8" so you would have to drill new holes in your cargo box to make it fit with your vehicle.

For your application I recommend going with the Malone Cargo16 # MPG902 or the Malone Profile18S # MPG910 cargo box as they have better mounting hardware that can be adjusted along a track instead of U-Bolts that fit into pre-drilled holes on your box. For the Cargo16 to have enough clearance you need at least 16" between the rear crossbar and the line where the roof and hatch meet. For the Profile18S to fit that same measurement needs to be 21".
