Wire Length of Hopkins Replacement Multi-Tow 7-Way and 4-Way # 30955
Question:
Previous owner cobbed into factory cable to run a box mounted gooseneck plug. Does this include enough length to reach above spare tire? If not, what do I need to make a neat, tight install for both bumper and gooseneck plugs?

Expert Reply:
The wire that joins the 7-way and the US car connector is 6-3/4 inches long. The US car connector would typically plug into the factory connector that is usually found above the spare tire. You should be able to remove some zip ties that fasten the factory connector in place, which will provide enough slack to it will reach the connector of the # 30955.
The # 41157 can be used to provide a functioning 7-way in your truck bed for your gooseneck or fifth wheel. The # 41157 would plug inline between the 30955 and the factory connector found over the spare tire.
I have edited a photo for you that shows how everything goes together.
