How to Tell If Surfboard Will Clear Antenna on 2013 Hunyadi Accent Hachback
Question:
Hi, Ive heard that with the type of car I have it may be difficult trying to get a roof rack for my car. I have a 2013 Hyundai Accent Hatchback and Im concerned about the antenna on the back end of my roof being in the way. I want to use the roof rack primarily for my surfboards longboards, will this work and if not is there another recommendation you might have for my car? Thank you!

Installing a roof rack on your 2013 Hyundai Accent Hatchback is actually pretty straightforward as the legs mount to specific points on your roof using some bolts. I recommend using the Rhino-Rack Vortex roof rack which uses the following parts:
46" Vortex Aero Crossbars - # RRVA118B-2
2500 Series Legs - # RRRLKVA
Fit Kit - # DK289
The Inno Board Locker Surfboard Carrier # INA744 will fit this roof rack and give you a way to transport your surfboards but I did see that your antenna sits up pretty high so you will need to be mindful of that going forward. The Vortex roof rack will add about 5-3/8" of height to your vehicle and then the Board Locker is going to be at least another 2-1/2" to where your board will be resting so the board should sit about 8" above your roof line. You can compare this to the height of your antenna to get a good idea for clearance.
