Recommended Hitch for 2021 Toyota RAV4 Carrying Yakima HangOver Bike Rack
Question:
Hi, I have the Yakima HangOver Tilting 4 Bike Rack and am looking to add a hitch to my rav4. Is there enough clearance or will I need to buy a hitch riser? Thanks for your help!

For a trailer hitch receiver that will give you enough clearance on your 2021 Toyota RAV4 I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e23ZR. This is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver. The distance from the ground to the top of the receiver opening is 12-1/4" so it will give you just enough ground clearance for your Yakima HangOver Bike Rack # Y02484.
If you would like to have additional clearance it is possible but you would not want to use an adapter that reduces the hitch capacity by 50%. What you would need is something like the Replacement Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 5" Drop/Rise - 10K # 325-GH-303. This would give you a 5" rise for extra clearance without reducing your hitch capacity.
I have attached some installation and review videos for your reference.
