How To Wire In A Power Source For The Furrion Vision S RV Camera System

Question:

Kevin C. : You did not answer my question. My question was and is; "How do I find the power source?" You proceeded to answer the question: "How to wire in A Power Source For The Furrion Vision S RV Camera System...?" I already have the camera installed on the rear of my travel trailer but there is no signal to the monitor. I want to find the power source for the camera so I can hopefully get this fixed. I s there an answer for my specific question? Thank you.

If you're installing the Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Backup Camera System # FOS43TASF without prewiring then you have two options for installation.

Option 1: You can simply splice into the wiring running to your trailer's reverse lights if you'd like the camera to turn on any time you put the truck in reverse.

Option 2: You can splice into the wiring running to your trailer's running lights if you'd light the camera to turn on anytime you have the headlights on in your truck.

Most people prefer Option 2 as this gives you the ability to constantly power the camera. If you have a 2020 or newer GM truck then I recommend also splicing in the PWM Filter # VGR64VR behind the camera while doing this installation to save you some time down the road.

The PWM Filter provides a steady current for the camera to properly operate and is a recent fix to a well known connectivity issue others having been facing with Furrion camera systems.

Since we now know that the camera system is already in place and that the issue is with the signal strength between the monitor and the camera I do have a solution to your specific issue. The camera is either powered by the running lights or the reverse lights, depending on how it was installed, unless it was ran directly to the battery with a switch to power it on and off, which I highly doubt in your case. When hooked up to the tow vehicle the power for both of these circuits comes directly from the tow vehicle through the 4 or 7-way connection. Depending on the output of the vehicle you could be receiving too little or pulsing power, which would not allow for proper operation. The solution to this is the PWM Filter # VGR64VR that I referenced before, which splices in behind the camera and provides a steady 12v current for the camera to properly operate and send the signal to the monitor.
