Troubleshooting Tekonsha T-One Wiring Harness Not Working On a 2013 Toyota Highlander

Hello - I bought this wiring kit for my 2013 Toyota Highlander and hooked it up per instructions. T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector Item # 118449 It is not working. I checked that all connections were good and everything looks good. Are there some trim levels of Highlanders that this will not work for? How can I troubleshoot? Thank you in advance for your help.

I am not aware of any trim levels the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118449 is not compatible with on your 2013 Toyota Highlander. I want to verify how you tested the 4-Way as if you connected to a trailer that has an issue with the lighting that may be the case. I recommend using a Test Light # PTW2993 to verify the 4-way operation.

I recommend starting with checking the fuses on your Highlander. You will want to check that the included fuse is good along with any other fuses that are tied to the tail lights or trailer lighting circuits. Be sure to verify the fuses with your owners manual as well.

If all your fuses are good and working the you will want to check the connectors on both plugs. You will want to ensure that none of the pins are missing or broken off inside the connector and that none of the wires are pulling out of the back of the connector.
