Troubleshooting Trailer Hitch Install Where Creaking is Heard with Bike Rack Used
Question:
Hello, I bought a hitch about a year ago for my 2017 Subaru Outback. It was the #C13206 model. I have recently noticed there is a bit of creaking going on when I have a bike rack on the hitch. I think it is coming from the hitch touching the spare wheel well. Are there any remedies to this problem?

Have you tried retorquing the hardware to see if that gets rid of the creaking? You might also try loosening the hardware and then retorqueing when the weight of the vehicle is on the suspension (so not jacked in the air in any way) as that will make sure the hitch isn't binding anything in the chassis and suspension.
