Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2021 Chevrolet Equinox
Question:
RM-523193-5, what is the height ? Next, when I this base plate, it tells me that I need to disconnect battery ? The 2021 Equinox manual states nothing about disconnecting battery, but to leave the battery energized, and trickle charge the battery from the coach. Which is correct ?

I believe the height you are looking for on the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-523193-5 is the height from the ground to the base plate to determine whether a high-low adapter is need. If that is the case, we do not have those measurements because it can vary vehicle by vehicle. You would need to park your Equinox on level ground and measure from the ground up to the center point of the tabs/base plates where the tow bar attaches. As far as what should be done for your battery, you will always want to follow what is in the owners manual for your specific vehicle. If the Manual for your 2021 Chevrolet Equinox says to charge the battery you can use the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25 to maintain the charge of your towed car's battery while the car is being towed. If your motorhome does not already have a charge line then you would also want to add the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Motorhomes # RM-156-75.
