Can the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapters Be Used for Towing

Question:

I’ve read that these can be flipped and that the raised receiver can also be used to tow. Is the tow rating the same for each receiver, no matter the orientation? Here’s my silly plan: I want to pull logs onto a trailer that is hitched to my vehicle. I would be using a winch attached to the top receiver. So I want to mount a 5000 lb winch on a hitch mount adapter plate to the raised receiver, and use the bottom the straighter receiver to tow my trailer. Either receiver would see no more than 6000 lbs pull and never at the same time. In other words, I would winch logs onto the trailer, disconnect the winch cable, and tow the trailer. Is the 10” raised dual adapter capable of 6000# of “towing?”

The Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapters like the 10" part # RM-077-10 cannot be used for towing per Roadmaster. The only similar option we have for towing is something the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount with 2" Receiver part # D210 or Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers part # 325-GH-214. The Gen-Y option will be better since you can still adjust the height of the hitch ball and there's an offset for clearance.
