Removing Dexter Torflex Axle Lift Kit
Question:
Hello, Would love to know how to best remove the factory hitch 16rd lift kit and go down to a standard 4500lb torsion dexter axle. Hope to make this tow better than it currently does, despite trying 4 different vehicles thus far. Thanks!

The lift kit of a Dexter Torflex axle like what you have is basically held on with just a few bolts. You'd just need to loosen them with the frame and axle supported with jacks and jack stands so that you could remove them and then use the removed hardware to attach the axle directly to the trailer frame. It might be easiest to use a jack stand for the trailer frame and then use a trailer jack to control the height of the axle to get the bolts to line up properly.
