For your 3,000-pound compact John Deere tractor, I recommend the Gen-Y Hitch Aluminum Loading Ramp Set - 84" Long x 14" Wide - 6,000 lbs # 325-GH-R84. Not only does this set provide you with 6,000 pound of maximum weight capacity, it also has a deck height requirement between 15-36 inches tall. This requirement is perfect for your 20-inch deck height. As far as safety, the serrated rungs of the ramps help provide maximum grip for your tractor.

As far as the gap between the lip and the rest of the ramp, it measures 2 inches wide. This is important to determine if the lip of your trailer is thin enough to accommodate your dump trailer. I went ahead and attached a diagram of this measurement for your convenience.
