For a complete flat towing setup on your 2022 Ford F-150 you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, possibly a high-low adapter, and some other wiring parts. Here is what I recommend using:
Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - # RM38VR
Nighthawk All Terrain Tow Bar w/ LED Lights - # RM-676
Towing Combo Kit - # RM-9284-2
Charge Line Kit - # RM-156-25
Brake Like Relay - # RM-88400
Brake Kit - Part # DM86VR for hydraulic or part # DM26VR for air motorhome brakes
High-Low Adapter - See attached article (Roadmaster base plate kit above is 15.5" above the ground)
I like the Direct-Connect base plate kit and Nighthawk All Terrain combo because it's very simple to install and use plus it looks really clean. The combo kit provides the rest of the wiring you need aside from what comes with the tow bar. The charge line kit keeps your battery from dying during travel and the brake light relay keeps your tail lights on your F-150 working correctly while flat towing. Finally I really like the Demco brake kits because they are really reliable and super easy to setup after the initial installation.
