What Wheelchair Carrier w/Ramp and Hitch do You Recommend for My 2018 Toyota Highlander?

Question:

I own a 2018 Toyota Highlander. I need a hitch and fold up carrier for a 375lb electric wheelchair. Can you match something up for me..

Definitely! For your 375-pound electric wheelchair, I recommend the 32x48 Reese Steel Solo Cargo Carrier and Folding Ramp for 2" Hitches # PS10401-10402. Not only is this the largest wheelchair/mobility scooter carrier we carry with an integrated ramp, it also provides you with 400 pounds of maximum weight capacity. In order to make sure that your wheelchair fits within the internal dimensions, I recommend measuring your wheelchair's length and width to make sure it will fit within the internal dimensions of 47-3/4" long x 31-3/4" wide. I went ahead and attached a video of the carrier installed on a 2018 Toyota Highlander to provide you with perspective.

To add theft-deterrence to the setup, I suggest using the Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" Hitches # 63232. For straps to secure the chair, the Retractable Ratchet Straps - S-Hooks - 1" x 12' - 500 lbs # Q34FR will do just the trick.

For a great compatible hitch, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - 2" # C13394. Not only does this hitch provide you with 500 pounds of maximum tongue weight capacity and 5,000 pounds of maximum gross towing capacity, it also comes with a gloss outer coat over the base powder coat that provides superior resistance to rust and corrosion than other brands. This hitch will allow you to accommodate a full-size spare tire unless the spare tire has aluminum rims. You will have absolutely no clearance issues with your bumper when using this hitch with the # PS10401-10402.

I went ahead and attached a video of the hitch being installed on a 2019 model Highlander. The process on your 2018 model is nearly identical.
