Bike Carrier and Trailer Hitch Recommendations for 2014 Chevy Impala LTZ
Question:
I have a 2014 Impala LTZ. I am looking to purchase the best hitch and carrier for 2 bicycles. It appears the hitch is fairly straightforward, that Draw-Tite 36538 should be a good fit. The carriers that I have looked at most are Thule T2 Pro XTR and Thule EasyFold XT 2. The 2 bicycles I plan to transport are a Priority Turi and a Priority Coast Step-Thru. Both have fenders. I know that the EasyFold is “overkill” for bicycles this size but I’m OK with that due to the apparent ease with which it can be removed and transported. I’m looking for a carrier to hold the bikes securely without damaging then that fits my car and struggling to find confirmation that fenders are OK and that bumper and ground clearance on the vehicle are compatible with any given rack. Your help is appreciated.

The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 36538 is a great option for your 2014 Chevy Impala LTZ!
Then as far as the bike racks go the T2 Pro XTR # TH23JV is a really nice bike rack but since it uses wheel clamps you'll want to avoid this style of rack as the clamps would damage your front fenders. The EasyFold XT # TH903202 seems like overkill because it was designed with e-Bikes in mind but when it comes to features and ease of use I don't really think there is such a thing as overkill to be quite honest - if the features suit your needs/wants then go for it!
The EasyFold XT is a great option for bikes with fenders because you aren't sacrificing quality and you'll be able to use it with a variety of bike frames even if you end up using different bikes in the future.
