Hitch Adapter Recommendation for Bike Rack on Lifted Vehicle
Question:
Is it possible to use a hitch adapter to lower the thule xt bike rack down on my jeep that has a 3 inch lift with 36 inch tires? I was looking at the 8 inch riser adapter, but didnt know if the thule xt bike rack will work with it. My wife has trouble loading the bikes because of the jeep height. The longer ramps wont help because the top of the ramp is still too high for her. Please advise.

For your application the best product to use is the Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount Shank - 2" Hitch - 5" Drop/Rise # 325-GH-303 because it will give you a much more solid connection than a Roadmaster high-low adapter would for your Thule EasyFold XT # TH903202.
Since there will be an additional connection between the hitch receiver and bike rack it is imperative to make sure the Gen-Y sits stable in your Jeep hitch receiver. To help out with this I recommend picking up the etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Stabilizer # e99007 which clamps down on the Gen-Y shank. I also recommend locking the Gen-Y to your Jeep with the etrailer Stainless Steel Hitch Lock # e98882.
