Adding An Adapter To My 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch To Gain Some Rise For My Hitch Cargo Carrier

Question:

I have a small Chevy E/V that came with a 11/4 hitch. I put a small cargo rack on the back but its so low, it scraps every time I hit a dip of any kind. Do you know of any hitch type extention that would raise the cargo rack up to avoid this problem?

We do have hitch extenders that do have a rise, but not any that are for 1-1/4" hitch accessories. If you decided to go with a 2" hitch cargo carrier instead, you can use the Hitch Adapter 1-1/4" to 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver with 5" Rise, part # HT5R. It will fit your 1-1/4" trailer hitch, allow you to use 2" hitch cargo carriers, and add 5" of rise. Please keep in mind, if you add a hitch extender to your trailer hitch you will reduce its maximum tongue weight by 50%. You should be able to find the maximum gross trailer weight of your trailer hitch in your owner's manual. Your maximum tongue weight is 10% of the total.

I have included a product description link and video review link below
