Can A Reese Goose Box Be Used With A Rhino Box Pin Box?

Question:

I am wanting to get a 20,000K Goose Box for our new Jayco Pinnacle which has a GVWR of 15,500 lbs. Is that overkill and I should go with a 16,000K? And then I want to see if I need any spacer kits or anything besides the Goose Box itself when I place the order. I have attached the image given to me with the LCI Item number. Is that an LCI 0115? Want to make sure I get the right one. I hope you can see the photo. It looks like it says Item number 2021150157. Thank you.

Thanks for the picture!

I reached out to Lippert to verify your pin box on your 2022 Jayco Pinnacle, and they informed me that your trailer has a 21K Rhino Box Pin Box.

Unfortunately, since your trailer has this pin box, you will not be able to use the Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Coupler Adapter # RP94716-61301.

Instead, what you can do is use the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter # CAB-C5G which will bolt to your kingpin.

Additionally, when replacing your pin box with another pin box, you should stick with the same weight capacity as the previous pin box, unless you get a larger trailer that your pin box will be insufficient for. You just need a pin box that has a higher weight capacity than the GVWR of your trailer.

This adapter is designed to be used with 2-5/16" hitch balls, and has a maximum towing capacity of 20,000lbs. You are also able to adjust the height ( from top of gooseneck ball to base of king pin box ) 12" to 16".

I have included an installation video for you to check out as well.
