Does Thule Roof Rack Have Capacity for Thule Tepui Explorer Roof Top Tent

Hi, is Rapid Podium Feet for Thule Crossbars able to hold Thule Tepui Explorer Autana roof top tent 153 lbs and 2 adults 170lbs and 110 lbsand 1 toddlers 25 lbs, 1 dog 20 lbs. Total weight will be 478 lbs. According to the manual, the max weight that can be loaded on the roof rack for the vehicle is 220lbs. The weight is more than double, Im afraid it might not be secure, it will be great if you can confirm it for me. Thanks

This is a really great question but the short answer is yes, the Thule roof rack you have will handle the weight of the Thule Tepui Explorer Autana 3 Rooftop Tent with Annex # TH8001KSK05 and the cargo you mentioned.

The long answer is that the weight capacity of the roof rack you mentioned is the dynamic weight capacity, or the capacity of weight it can handle while also withstanding bumps in the road that would exaggerate that weight and put additional stress on it. So the static capacity, while not listed, would be much higher and compatible with the tent.
